Short answer
Buy only from licensed pharmacies, check that the label, lot number and expiry are intact and match the box, and report anything unusual. Pens sold without a prescription, through social media or WhatsApp, or labeled for another country are red flags. Report suspected fakes to FDA MedWatch or Health Canada.
